What is a Stroke?
A stroke is what occurs when the blood supply and flow to the brain is suddenly cut off, generally due to blood clotting in a vein in the brain or neck. This usually causes movement problems, numbness or pain, and memory, thinking, speaking, and emotional problems. Diabetics are 1.5 times more at risk at having a stroke than those without diabetes, but only if you are not taking good care of your health. By monitoring and controlling your blood glucose, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels, exercising regularly, and eating a healthy diet, you can lower your chances of experiencing a stroke. The warning signs of a stroke include dizziness, imbalance, sudden vision problems, confusion, and a sever headache. If someone is having a stroke, it is of highest importance to to call a medic immediately so they can help that person properly.
